It's time to get back to being the cynical curmudgeon

Today is a special day, later we will actually be going out to a friend's place for dinner. Pasta, I'm looking forward to it. The nice thing about pasta it make the wine choice easy, red, and we have a few bottles of that kicking around downstairs on the rack. This reminds me, Sometime in the next week or so I will put on a batch of red for the upcoming summer months. Now comes the task of figuring what kind of wine to put on. While my lovely wife knows her way around a wine list and is a semi connoisseur, I am just a simple man who is nothing more than a wine sewer.

However before that happens the to-do list has to be whittled down. Today is the seventh of January, twenty seventeen. Little Christmas is over and done with so it's time for the annual dismantling of the tree. To go along with the dismantling is the ever popular finding space in the utility room for all the trinkets, ornaments and other assorted paraphernalia that I, with no plan for the future, dragged out last month. One thing about taking down the tree, it kinda makes the impending transition official, time to get back to being  the cynical curmudgeon.

Here are a few links for you.

Recently there have been a spat of messages from  celebs telling people what to support or what to oppose etc. Well here is a message to those celebs

Looking outside I see that we have around two and a half feet of snow on the ground. These folks are bitching because they have two and a half inches from their latest blizzard.

Starbucks will be increasing the salaries for their staff this month which is a nice thing. I just wonder how long it will be before the employees price themselves out of their market

There's not enough tension in the world so now it looks like Britain is beating plow shares into swords.

While on the surface this looks like a waste of time it could be used as a means so determine the outcome of a serious pandemic.

I figure new bike riders be damned, this is like cheating

Here's a little story about the shape of things to come in the not so United States. While it is a little disturbing there is always Elrond from Lord of the Rings to prey to for deliverance I guess.

One last question before I go. Would you take this test

That's it from up here North of Disorder.
