Happy July Fourth...

I was up and at 'em early today. It's trash day and I had neglected to put it out last night. After we got home I had a hankering for a soak in a nice hot bath so I did. When I finally climbed out I just didn't feel like skinning back into my clothes and dragging refuse outside, what with the bears and other wildlife on the hunt. That's my story and I'm sticking to it, so there.

Yesterday was a good day. We went over to a friend's place for a swim and some dinner. There was a bit of a paperwork loose end that had to be taken care of as well. The water was "brisk" but thanks  to the outside temperature being not that hot the transition wasn't horrible. Dinner was very nicely cooked and tender steak with all the trimmings. I guess that I am an odd ball because I'm not really a steak eater. We didn't have it that much when I was a kid. The steaks I had in the military, well I'm sure the ones that were not eaten were sent out and used in shoe repair. The end result was and is that I'm not that fussy for them. It's all good, the more for others I guess.

Today it's nice and sunny (again) and I'm going to head into town and get a few things then I hope to get some work on the old/new trailer done. Who knows maybe I will actually get the lawn cut today as well.

I almost forgot today is July fourth, Independence Day. The day the United States of America was born in battle, blood and fire. These days I look south and see a once proud country ripping itself apart, looking to the likes of Ms Clinton and Mr. Trump for leadership. On the one side a corrupt socialist, on the other side a fool and together they spell chaos.

I was looking around and found these links for you to have a look at.

Looking south at the land of the brave and home of the free it looks like a few are taking that seriously, the brave/free thing that is. Personally I think this is a good thing, to my mind relying on others like the police to protect you has always been a sketchy thing. Look at Orlando, it took a little more than three hours for the shooter to be neutralized as the cops "controlled the perimeter" out side and tried to negotiate. End result? Forty nine dead and fifty three wounded.

I see that Nigel Farage, the UKIP leader has decided to step down. I guess this is a case of "I've done as much damage as I can so now I can move on."

In Denver there are a group of parents that are pulling their kids out of scouts. They are angry, no they are livid that the scouting folks would allow a camp to be sponsored by Hooters. I promise to you my loyal readers that I will do my udder utter best to keep abreast of this story's latest developments.

All I'm going to say about this magician is that his latest trick is going to leave a mark. Seriously. Watching this guy reminds me of an old gag called the Polish Magician which was so stupid it was funny.

I'm going to add this one last link because I'm hoping you will "get a bang out of it" but not in the same way as this guy.

Well that's about enough from me up here North of Disorder.
